The Grinch Book Tag

I know I am a bit late getting to this tag, but I am still going to do it anyway.

Half the lights on the Christmas tree are burned out. Name a series that started out good but turned into a bit of a let down.

The Hunger Games by Susanne Collins. I absolutely loved the first in the series but I was less than impressed with the other two. The second just seemed as if  was a more boring version of the first and the third was just disappointing compared to the others. Do not get me wrong, I still love the entire series.

Annoying Aunt Sally who just won't leave you alone. Name a book that you didn't enjoy but just can't seem to go away.

Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare. I just could not relate to the characters and I also felt that the entire basis of the play was too far fetched. The limited amount of time in which these two fall in love is unrealistic (lust is not the same as love). They also kill themselves for their "love" for each other due to a misunderstanding. I just can't even... (I guess I should have inserted a *Spoiler Here* in front of that tidbit but if you have not read it at this point then odds are you won't in the future).

Your pet keeps knocking down all of your Christmas decorations. Name a character that kept messing up everything for the rest of the characters.

Alice from The Last Apprentice series by Joseph Delaney. Don't worry, I am not really surprised that you have no idea what this series is about. It is about a young boy,Tom, who is a seventh son of a seventh son and as a result is able to see the dark creatures of the world. When he turns 12 he is sent to become an apprentice to the county Spook, a man who fights creatures and evil. Alice, however, is someone that Tom meets on his adventures and she has the tendency to cause problems in her wake as a result of her trying to help those she loves. It is a great series that I would highly suggest to anyone who loves books involving: fantasy, ghosts, boggarts, witches, and the middle ages. End of loving rant.

You hear your parents putting out the Christmas presents and learn that Santa is not real. Name a book that was spoiled for you.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth. I was looking at youtube videos on book hauls/unboxings and there was a girl (I cannot remember her name or channel title) but she just suddenly started talking about it and ruined its ending. I was devastated, please start putting spoiler alerts before ruining the ending to a book/series. I still have yet to pick it up and finish because every time I cannot help but get angry about the entire situation.

It is freezing outside. Name a character you just cannot relate to.

Darcy in The Mystic Wolves by Belinda Boring. She is completely self obsessed and cannot stop flirting an teasing even for one page. I am just going to leave it at that because I do not want to get into why this book is the worst I have ever read. Just purely teen sexual angst pretending to be a werewolf novel.

Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas is You is on the radio and giving you anti romantic feelings. Name a couple you just did not get along with.

Darcy and Mason in The Mystic Wolves by Belinda Boring. For more information please read the last answer.

That scratchy homemade sweater you got for Christmas one year but just cannot get rid of. Name some books you have had on your shelves for ages but just don't have the heart to get rid of or the motivation to read them.

I am not really going to go into detail for any of these because it would take too long, but just keep in mind that I do plan on reading each and every one. His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. Fairy Godmother Mercedes Lackey. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larson. Jonathan Strange & Mr.Norrell by Susanne Clarke.

Grandma got run over by a reindeer. Name a character death you are not yet over.

Any and everyone that died in the adventures of the Harry Potter books. I still grieve them all. Enough said. (mainly because I do not want to spoil the books for anyone who has yet to read them, although, by this point in time it would be surprising if you hadn't).

The malls are overfilled with holiday shoppers. Name a series that has too many books or or a book that just goes on for far too long.

The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. This book was 720 struggle filled pages that I had to continuously push myself to complete. I had to read this for my AP English class back in high school, and despite the fact that I enjoyed both Atlas Shrugged and Anthem (not for her philosophical views), I found that I just could not connect with this novel.

The Grinch. Name a main character that you just hate.

I don't tend to hate the main characters of the novels I read but once again I would have to say Darcy in The Mystic Wolves by Belinda Boring.

I do not remember who created the grinch book tag so ....oops.
